Shared Measures in Mental Health Science: An Update on Recent Progress Towards Data Harmonization

In this, our first virtual event of 2021, we introduced the work of our Common Measures in Mental Health Science Governance Board (CMB), a group of funders and publishers that is agreeing on shared measures in order to promote data harmonization. The initiative, currently co-chaired by the Wellcome Trust and the NIH has the potential to modernize mental health research analysis by making data easier to compare and combine.
Throughout February, the CMB was accepting applications from experts in measuring mental health experiences, demographics and functioning to join its Advisory Group (CMA). The group is tasked with recommending shared data collection instruments that are relevant and transferable to a variety of locations and areas of mental health research.
