It comprises five interdisciplinary research hubs plus a data-science hub (DATAMIND), funded with over £20 million to accelerate discovery, improve diagnoses, and enhance treatments through shared data, harmonised measures, and meaningful lived-experience engagement. The Platform emphasizes open science, cross-sector collaboration (including industry partnerships), and equitable research practices—ensuring diverse participation and real-world impact.
For funders and the wider sector, the UK Mental Health Platform presents a potentially scalable model for leveraging shared infrastructure to catalyse high-quality, translational mental health research nationally and globally.
