The Atlas of Longitudinal Datasets, launched by King’s College London in January 2025 with support from Wellcome*, MQ Mental Health Research*, and lived experience experts, is an online, searchable platform that maps over 1,600 longitudinal mental health datasets globally. It covers more than 1 billion participants across 186 countries, with ~25% of datasets having representation from at least one low- and middle-income country.

The Atlas enables researchers, policy makers, and funders to visualise and compare datasets, filter by demographics, data types, and mental health topics, and identify gaps and overlaps. By making diverse datasets discoverable and enabling harmonisation, it reduces duplication, encourages collaboration, and strengthens evidence-based policy and intervention efforts.

For funders, the Atlas of Longitudinal Datasets highlights underfunded regions and populations and has the potential to support more coordinated investments.
